Micah Parsons throws more shade at Giants, Daniel Jones while praising Saquon Barkley’s performance vs. Commanders | Sporting News United Kingdom

Saquon Barkley’s recent performances have caught the glare of numerous luminaries, from Dez Bryant to LeBron James. It’s hard to believe there’s a more vocal Barkley fan than Cowboys standout Micah Parsons, however.

The former Penn State alum has regularly expressed wonderment over Barkley’s impressive skillset, singing the Eagles star’s praises regardless of which franchise he’s turned out for.

A Thursday night clash against the Commanders, then, proved an ideal stage for Parsons to reaffirm his support for Barkley, who has found the sun again since arriving in Philadelphia.

Barkley was paramount in the Eagles’ 26-18 win over high-flying Washington. Parsons took notice, using social media as a soundboard for his musings on all things Barkley.

What did Micah Parsons say about Saquon Barkley?

Parsons rekindled his ongoing feud with the Giants on Thursday night, taking to X, the website formerly known as Twitter, to express delight over Barkley’s usage with the Birds. Conversely, Parsons was critical of Barkley’s former employers, the Giants, and their starting quarterback (for now), Daniel Jones.

Thursday wasn’t the first time Parsons jabbed at New York’s front office for its handling of Barkley’s Big Blue career. Parsons expressed similar sentiments ahead of the Cowboys Week 10 duel against the Eagles

“This was always who Saquon was,” Parsons said on his podcast. “Since I have known him at Penn State until now, I knew this is what he’s capable of.”

“For Saquon, this is a blessing in disguise. … People are seeing what you’re capable of when people appreciate you. The Giants did not appreciate it.”

Barkley was fairly successful during his spell in the Big Apple, nabbing two Pro Bowls, three 1,000-yard seasons, and 54 total touchdowns across seven years in Giants colors.

New York was not as successful, as the Giants qualified for the postseason once with Barkley in the backfield. After falling short of the 1,000-yard plateau in 2023, Barkley set his sights elsewhere. He found greener pastures in Philadelphia, inking a three-year, $37.5 million deal in March.

“Now, the rest of the league is facing the consequences of the Giants’ stupidity,” Parsons said. “I don’t want to say he lost his confidence, but he probably lost confidence in the system, the people that’s blocking for him.”

Parsons feelings are well-documented. He’s far from the only one to express those sentiments, though. So, too, have Eagles fans, who expressed gratitude toward New York for surrendering such a gifted tailback during Prime Video’s postgame show.

Barkley found a home beneath the bright Lincoln Financial Field lights on Thursday night, accounting for nearly 200 yards from scrimmage and two scores to power the Birds beyond their NFC East adversaries.

Saquon Barkley highlights vs. Commanders

Barkley was held fairly quiet during the first half of Thursday’s contest, struggling to find much space through Washington’s front seven.

Then, the second half commenced. Barkley put on his mask and cape and proceeded to set the Commanders’ defense alight.

Barkley surfaced as the Eagles raced down the field. On third-and-short, Barkley settled into open field, reeled in a check down, and rumbled down the rolling green pasture for 43 yards.

More slaloming scampers were on the horizon for the Penn State alum, who breached the end zone twice by the time the dust settled.

Barkley’s first pilgrimage to pay dirt saw him put forth his best Florence Griffith-Joyner impression, darting beyond Washington’s weary defenders to the tune of a 20.78 mph top speed.

Touchdown No. 2 was similarly enticing, albeit he did his damage from between the tackles, not on the outside. Barkley turned a Hurts pitch into a 39-yard coronation, slipping between an entourage to find paradise once more.
