Jalen Brunson strikes game-winner for Knicks, Mikal Bridges seals victory with clutch block | NBA News – Times of India

Jalen Brunson delivered a stunning 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds left. With that, the New York Knicks secured a thrilling 124-122 win over the Brooklyn Nets in NBA Cup Group A play. The Knicks had built a 21-point lead but saw it vanish after Dennis Schroder’s late triple gave Brooklyn a brief edge. Following a timeout, Brunson received an inbounds pass from Mikal Bridges and he confidently sized up Dorian Finney-Smith before drilling the decisive shot.

The New York Knicks edged out the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, thanks to Jalen Brunson’s clutch game-winning 3-pointer. New York struggled in the fourth, only scoring just four points in the first few minutes. The Nets capitalized well and took the lead with 11 seconds left. However, the timeout proved to be a blessing for the team as Brunson isolated against Dorian Finney-Smith, creating space to nail the decisive shot to secure the Knicks’ victory. With the recent win, the Knicks are now at 6-6.

The Nets had a chance to tie it in the final seconds as Dennis Schroder raced to the basket with a clear path. However, Mikal Bridges made a game-saving block from behind. Both Brunson and Bridges were sensational in the game as they scored season-highs of 37 and 22 points, respectively. As for the game stars of Bridges, he regained his 3-point touch and sank 4 of 7 attempts. Meanwhile, Brunson dominated the fourth quarter with 16 points. Net’s Cam Thomas did his best with an astounding performance leading Brooklyn with 43 points. The game went into the hands of the Knicks. While Karl-Anthony Towns was missing, the team did not let his absence add any tension to the gameplay.

The New York Knicks have an exciting slate of games ahead. Starting on November 18, they will host the Washington Wizards, followed by a challenging road trip. On November 20, they face the Phoenix Suns, then head to Utah to play the Jazz on November 23. The Knicks continue their Western Conference tour against the Denver Nuggets on November 25 and the Dallas Mavericks on November 27.
