Daniel Jones’ benching leads to return of most famous agent in NFL loved by fans

The NFL’s viral sensation is back.

With the New York Giants benching Daniel Jones as the team’s starting quarterback and setting their sights on the 2025 draft, the immediate news was that Tommy DeVito — also known as Tommy Cutlets — was taking over again.

But there was even bigger news on Monday to serious NFL fans.

Sean Stellato, better known as DeVito’s outspoken agent, spent last season wowing Joe Buck and stunning Peyton and Eli Manning.

With DeVito set to take over as the Giants’ starter for Week 12, according to multiple reports, Stellato is expected to leap back into the picture.

“The best part of any Giants season lately is when Tommy DeVito’s agent starts getting a bunch of air time,” one fan tweeted.

When the Giants rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Green Bay Packers 24-22 last season, the internet went crazy for a then-unknown man in the stands wearing all black, handing out friendly kisses, and motioning his fingers the old Italian way.

“The agent may break the internet,” ESPN announcer Joe Buck said.

“What the heck is going on?” Troy Aikman joked.

“They’re having kisses everywhere!” Buck said.

DeVito, an undrafted rookie, completed 17-of-21 passes for 158 yards, one touchdown and a 113.9 rating.

The New Jersey native also ran 10 times for 71 yards as the Giants outscored the Packers 9-3 in the fourth quarter to steal the win.

DeVito and his thick accent initially were the best part of his story, during a season when Jones was lost for the year due to injury.

DeVito was seen as fun, likeable and a hometown product for the struggling Giants.

“I don’t have to worry about laundry, what I’m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there,” said DeVito, who still lived with his parents.

“My mum still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don’t even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here.”

DeVito began 3-1 as a starter for New York and produced a thrilling last-second win.

He also had an agent who dressed, talked and looked the part.

“Look at DeVito. Who is this guy he’s talking to?” Peyton Manning said on the ManningCast broadcast.

Then the Hall of Famer imagined what the agent might be saying to the New Jersey native.

“Hey, whatever you need, I got you. I’ll take care of you, all right?” Peyton said.

Eli knew exactly who the man in black was.

“Of course that’s his agent,” Eli said. “Come on, Tommy DeVito’s agent.”

While Peyton wondered what was in the agent’s bag, Eli knew the answer was obvious.

“Some cutlets,” Eli said. “Some cutlets for later.”

Jones the No. 6 overall pick of the 2019 draft out of Duke, is 24-44-1 as an NFL starter and could be done in New York.

DeVito went 3-3 overall as a rookie, completing 64 percent of his passes for 1,101 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

Now, DeVito is leading the struggling Giants (2-8) again, while Stellato is ready for another internet-ready performance.

The NFL’s Thanksgiving schedule could feature DeVito leading the Giants against Cooper Rush and the Dallas Cowboys, with Tom Brady on the call.

Tickets for that Nov. 28 game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas were available for $26 on the resale market.
