Jusuf Nurkic back for Phoenix Suns vs New York Knicks
Suns showing up much they miss injured Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal
The Arizona Republic’s Duane Rankin explains Suns have been inconsistent behind line stars on the IL.
The Phoenix Suns will have Jusuf Nurkic back from a left ankle sprain for Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks at Footprint Center.
Nurkic has been bothered by the ankle since injuring it Nov. 8 at Dallas. Since that game, Nurkic has been in and out of the lineup.
He played the first half against Sacramento, but sat out the second half and overtime of the Nov. 10 loss in Phoenix. The 7-footer missed the Utah game to begin a four-game road trip, played the next three, but didn’t play in Monday’s home loss to Orlando.
In his last four games, Nurkic is shooting 3-of-23 from the field for a total of 12 points. His return comes against the Knicks and their big man, Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Suns are still without Kevin Durant (left calf strain) and Bradley Beal (left calf strain). The Suns are hopeful those two are able to play in next week’s NBA Cup game against the Lakers as they have five days between Wednesday’s game against the Knicks and the Nov. 26 matchup versus the Lakers.
