IMG Pulls Out Of Australian Fashion Week, With Australian Fashion Council Seeking Ownership

In a massively blow to Australian Fashion Week, key sponsor IMG pulled out of the annual event. Meanwhile, the Australian Fashion Council, and industry not-for-profit, is seeking to fill the void. The council has formed a taskforce to plan its takeover as the event’s leader and key stakeholder. Local designers Bianca Spender, Michael Lo Sordo, Romance Was Born and more all expressed their support for the Council’s bid to shake up the Sydney-based fashion week. “Fashion Week is not important for the high heels and champagne,” said Australian Fashion Council chief executive Jaana Quaintance-James at a press conference held at the Sydney Opera House. “It’s important for the business of fashion, for collectively positioning Australia as the source of incredible brands that are highly respected on the global stage.”

Balenciaga And Under Armour Join Forces On Luxe Athletic Collection

Balenciaga x Under Armour athletic collection.

In what can only be described as the ultimate meeting of high fashion and high performance, Balenciaga and Under Armour have joined forces for a collaboration that’s equal parts luxe and athletic.

Launched on November 7, the series – first unveiled during the Spring ’25 show in Shanghai – is a mix of technical sportswear and Balenciaga’s signature street-forward silhouette. From sleek sneakers to reversible tracksuits, this collection is all about blurring the lines between style and function. Think of it as performance gear, but with a fashion-forward approach.

Designed to look like something straight out of your favourite sports commercial, the collection includes everything from classic UA athletic base layers to Balenciaga’s instantly recognisable oversized denim, all while keeping a sharp focus on comfort and versatility.

The real star here? The hybrid garments – like a tracksuit jacket that flips into a denim zip-up, or hoodies that transform into tote bags. The collection also features Balenciaga’s iconic Runner, 3XL, reimaged with a sporty edge, silver-plated jewellery, futuristic sunglasses, and co-branded accessories. Keen to get your hands on some pieces? The range, which is priced between $225 and $5750, is available for purchase online and in select stores.

Adidas And Song For The Mute Launch Their Fourth Vintage-Inspired Collaboration

Adidas Song For The Mute

This month, Song for the Mute and adidas Originals are back with another moody, historical-meets-streetwear drop that practically screams neo-nostalgic fantasy. Following the first release, which had us swooning over ADISTAR Cushions and darkly romantic apparel, the duo now turns its attention to a reimagined icon, the Country OG.

Launched on November 12, the sneaker rolls out in rich camel, burgundy, and black hues, dressing the sneakers in a textural feast — think patent leather, pony hair, and even velvet-striped details. With braided rope laces and rugged gum soles, these kicks are equal parts throwback and cutting-edge — our latest style obsession.

If you’re a fan of the vintage look, this collab is the ultimate statement for bringing past aesthetics into the present — and turning heads while doing it.

Dior And Kaws Bring A Playful Touch To New Capsule Collection

Dior and Kaws

Just when you thought quiet luxury was here to stay, Dior Men’s artistic director Kim Jones and Kaws are back to prove otherwise. Their latest capsule, Dior and Kaws, feels like a wearable art piece, fusing Dior’s heritage with Kaws’ pop-art vibe, reviving the creative sparks from their 2019 debut with a playful twist.

The pièce de résistance? A snaking “Dior” logo that winds its way across cotton bermudas, quilted shirts, and the classic Rider 2.0 bags, adding a mischievous, streetwear edge to classic Dior staples.

Neon-bright B35 sneakers and chunky jewellery seal the deal, making this drop a must for anyone who wants to start 2025 with an unapologetically daring look. Catch it in Dior boutiques from January 2.

Phillip Lim Leaves Namesake Label, 3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim has stepped down as creative director of his namesake brand, 3.1 Phillip.

In fashion’s latest plot twist, Phillip Lim has announced he’s stepping back from his namesake brand, 3.1 Phillip Lim, after nearly two decades at the helm. The designer who helped define New York’s effortlessly cool aesthetic played a major role in putting New York style on the global map with his signature structured blazers, silk dresses, and the iconic Pashli satchel that once defined “it-bag” status.

Lim co-founded the contemporary brand back in 2005 alongside his longtime friend and current CEO, Wen Zhou, and has since become synonymous with understated elegance within the fashion industry.

While Lim’s next move is still a mystery, he teased that he’s “ready to evolve” through new beginnings and a redefined creative journey – though specifics are still under wraps. As for 3.1 Phillip Lim? The brand will continue on, but fans are already feeling the void. Wherever Lim heads next, many will be watching.

This post will be updated as more news unfolds.
