Sports Video Control Room Debuts | News | Hofstra University, New York
Sports Video Group
Sports Video Group published a feature on Hofstra University’s new video control room, used for broadcasting Pride athletic events.
The control room was born out of a partnership between The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication, Hofstra Athletics, and Hofstra Information Technology Services. While it is increasing the quality of live game broadcasts, the facility is also giving students interested in sport media careers invaluable experience in production.
The facility’s interdisciplinary collaboration and organizational agility are two pillars of the Hofstra 100 Strategic Plan, introduced by Hofstra President Susan Poser earlier this fall.
The Sports Video Group article was reported by Hofstra alumnus Brandon Costa ’06. It features interviews with Vice President of Athletics Rick Cole, Herbert School Dean Mark Lukasiewicz, Assistant Director of Athletics for Broadcast Productions Kevin Dexter, and Herbert School Chief Media Engineer Cam Keough.
