Following Bitter MSG Welcome, Tom Brady Switches Side as Jason Kidd’s Mavericks Take On Knicks
“No fear. You ready? @celtics” wrote Tom Brady back in June, highlighting his support for one particular team in the 2024 NBA Finals. Growing up in an environment that prioritized football, the former NFL player also dabbled in basketball from time to time. The rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird made Brady a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. Therefore, the Dallas Mavericks did not have a chance of receiving Brady’s support in the Finals. As it turns out, however, ‘circumstances’ may have forced the football star to finally support Luka Doncic and co during the regular season.
The 7x Super Bowl Champion was amongst the thousands of attendees who are present for the ongoing matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks. As the game progressed, with Jalen Brunson making some free throws, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd could be seen having a conversation with Brady. The same was made possible as the former athlete had occupied an exclusive spot on the edge of the court. From their personal interests to team strategies, the conversation could have been about anything.
It makes sense that Tom Brady may have indicated a support for the Mavericks by talking to Kidd. After all, Knicks fans did not give him too much of a warm welcome during his recent visit to Madison Square Garden.
This is a developing story.
