New York Giants predicted to take ‘big swing’ at quarterback in 2025 NFL draft | Sporting News

The New York Giants became the first team officially eliminated from playoff contention following the ugly 27-20 loss against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

Their seventh consecutive loss was another brutal showing of offense in which the Giants totaled 247 yards while going 3-of-12 on third down. Drew Lock failed to throw a touchdown while turning the ball over twice.

Set to become a major player in the quarterback market next offseason, the Giants are likely to enter the 2025 NFL draft looking for a potential franchise quarterback.

In his predictions of how the quarterback carousel will look next offseason, Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report had the Giants taking a big swing in the draft.

“Shedeur Sanders to the Giants: The highest ceiling belongs to Sanders, and the Giants must know it’s time to take a big swing,” Gagnon wrote.

Taking the high-profile quarterback out of Colorado seems like a move many analysts will predict over the course of the offseason.

Between Sanders, Miami’s Cam Ward, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Georgia’s Carson Beck, there seem to be a handful potential options at the top of the draft.

Whether Sanders would be coached by Brian Daboll on a team run by Joe Schoen remains to be seen, but the Giants are going to be in the quarterback market regardless.

In 11 games this season, Sanders has completed 73.4% of his passes for 3,488 yards, 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
