The Waldorf Astoria New York, one of the city’s most iconic hotels, is preparing for a triumphant return.
After an extensive multi-year restoration led by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and celebrated interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, the landmark property will officially reopen in spring 2025.
Reservations will be accepted for stays in the reimagined hotel starting December 10, 2024, marking the beginning of a new chapter in its storied history.
This historic Midtown Manhattan property, a symbol of timeless elegance, has been meticulously restored to preserve its heritage while incorporating modern luxury. The Grand Ballroom, the famed lobby featuring the Waldorf Astoria clock, and other cherished spaces have been painstakingly revitalized, seamlessly blending original Art Deco elements with contemporary upgrades.

Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, near Times Square, Waldorf Astoria New York will feature reimagined guest rooms and suites offering an unparalleled luxury accommodation experience.
Beyond their generous size, with the majority exceeding 570 square feet, these spaces will seamlessly blend modern comforts with subtle Art Deco accents, a nod to the hotel’s iconic heritage.
The Waldorf Astoria New York will offer 375 redesigned guest rooms and suites. Each room will provide a sanctuary of refined elegance and a haven of tranquility amidst the vibrant energy of Manhattan. Waldorf Astoria New York will also boast a 30,000 square foot spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and outdoor terrace serving as an oasis within the bustling city.
Acclaimed Chef Michael Anthony will serve as the mastermind behind the standout signature restaurant, Lex Yard, a two-story American Brasserie that will charm the neighborhood while delivering a world-class dining experience. Peacock Alley, the iconic lounge and bar synonymous with the Waldorf Astoria brand, has also been reimagined and will return to the heart of the hotel.
This reopening also sets the stage for other highly anticipated Waldorf Astoria openings globally, including properties in Costa Rica, Japan, and London.
