Model called 911 about Joe Burrow home break-in during Monday Night Football. What we know
Listen to the 911 calls for Joe Burrow’s home break-in
Olivia Ponton, model and influencer, was one of three who called police about a break-in at Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s house.
Joe Burrow’s house in Anderson Township was broken into while the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was in Texas for Monday Night Football, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said.
Olivia Ponton, IMG model and influencer, discovered the break-in when she arrived at the residence, according to the incident report.
Ponton is employed by Burrow, according to the sheriff’s report.
“Someone broke into my house,” Ponton said in a 911 call.
The break-in occurred between 2:30 p.m. and shortly after 8 p.m., the report states. It adds that whoever broke into the home entered through a rear, first-floor window and avoided leaving fingerprints.
Ponton told police she found the bedroom window shattered and the room ransacked, the incident report notes.
Police arrived to the scene and cleared the home. The Criminal Investigation Section also responded to the scene for photographs and evidence collection.
Police were in the area for security purposes before the break-in was reported, according to the 911 calls.
Olivia Ponton, others call 911 after break-in at Burrow’s home
Ponton called her mom, Diane Ponton, after discovering the break-in, and her mom also called the police.
“Diane Ponton, it’s my daughter Olivia,” she said in the 911 call. Diane Ponton told the dispatcher her 22-year-old daughter was staying at Burrow’s home.
Dispatchers also received a third call from a woman named “Katie.” She had called New York City Police Department, who connected her with Hamilton County police. She reported the incident and confirmed with the dispatcher that police had arrived at the scene.
According to this call, Ponton was at Burrow’s home alone.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office cannot yet confirm whether anything was taken from Burrow’s home.
Because Burrow was in Dallas, he could not give details as to what items were taken, the incident report reads.
It adds, Ponton gave a non-detailed itemization of what items might have been missing.
NFL sent a memo about criminals targeting pro athlete’s home
The break-in comes shortly after the NFL sent a memo to all 32 NFL teams in November about organized criminals increasingly targeting professional athletes’ homes.
“Law enforcement officials have noted these groups appear to exploit team schedules to target athletes’ homes on game days,” the memo reads.
It continues, explaining groups appear to gather information through public records, media reports and social media. Some conduct “extensive surveillance on targets, their residences, neighborhoods and security measures.”
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office could not confirm at this time whether multiple people broke into Burrow’s home.
In early October, the homes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his teammate Travis Kelce were broken into.
The teammates were not at their Kansas City area homes because they were preparing for the Chiefs’ Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7.
The Bengals did not respond to a request for comment.
