Sports Seriously
Despite all the problems the Atlanta Falcons (7-7) have, they are still alive in the playoff hunt, and they’ll get a good chance to remain in contention when the New York Giants (2-12) visit.
The miserable season in New York continues with the Giants coming off their ninth consecutive loss. Quarterbacks keep going down and no matter who is under center, the results have not been good. At this point, the only thing to look forward to is getting a top pick in next year’s draft.
Imagine feeling gross after a much-needed win. That’s what Atlanta feels after it ended its losing skid in unimpressive fashion on “Monday Night Football.” It was so bad that Kirk Cousins has been benched in favor of rookie first-round pick, Michael Penix Jr.

Tyler Dragon: Falcons 20, Giants 14
Raheem Morris said Kirk Cousins has to play better after throwing one touchdown and nine interceptions in his last five games. But, that won’t be an issue moving forward. It’s up to rookie Michael Penix Jr. now. Fortunately for the Falcons, the Giants are an inferior team with even worse quarterback play.
Jordan Mendoza: Falcons 27, Giants 12
The Sunday before Christmas, the Falcons get the ultimate gift in getting to play against the Giants. Atlanta gladly takes the win to stay in the NFC South race.
