Mangione headed back to New York
The man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare’s CEO is being returned to New York to face murder charges. Luigi Mangione agreed on Thursday to be extradited at a court appearance at the Blair County Courthouse, Hollidaysburg. He was arrested at the Plank Road McDonald’s last week after five days on the run. The 26-year-old is accused of ambushing Brian Thompson on Dec. 4 outside a Manhattan hotel. Mangione initially fought attempts to be extradited. He made two brief court appearances Thursday before being quickly ushered out of the courthouse by New York Police Department officers and beginning his trip back to New York.
