Air India has launched its flagship Airbus A350-900 aircraft on daily non-stop flights between Delhi and New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Starting January 2, 2025, this service will expand with five weekly A350 flights from Delhi to Newark’s Liberty International Airport (EWR), the airline announced on Friday. This flagship product of Air India was earlier launched on the Delhi-London Heathrow route.
“With these deployments, Air India introduces to travellers visiting the New York region its all-new interiors, including private suites in Business Class and a Premium Economy cabin, as well as an award-winning new Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system, enhanced catering, and new serviceware,” it said in a release.
The introduction of the A350 brings Air India’s Premium Economy experience to the Delhi-New York route for the first time, featuring 24 spacious seats with extra legroom in a 2-4-2 configuration within a dedicated, upscale cabin.
The A350 aircraft offers a Business Class cabin with 28 private suites in a 1-2-1 configuration, each equipped with a full lie-flat bed. Each suite provides direct aisle access, sliding privacy doors, and a personal wardrobe for added convenience and comfort. As per the airline, it is now the “only non-stop carrier between India and the US to offer private suites with sliding doors in Business Class”.
On board WiFi
Air India is set to introduce its new inflight connectivity service on international flights operated by the A350 in the coming weeks. This service will allow passengers to stay connected via onboard Wi-Fi, accessible on their personal devices throughout the flight.
Additionally, seats across all cabins on the A350 are equipped with the latest-generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and HD screens. Passengers can enjoy over 3,000 hours of entertainment in 13 international and 8 Indian regional languages, offering a diverse selection of global content.
