Alec Baldwin took a courtside seat as he supported the New York Knicks for their Emirates NBA Cup game against Orlando Magic at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

The 30 Rock alum, 66, cut a casual figure in a brown polo shirt as he supported his home team on the front row.

For the sporting event in the Big Apple, the actor looked tired in a black trench coat, brown trousers and brown leather loafers.

But Alec’s outing was not a wasted evening as his home team finished the game as champions winning 121 – 106.

Their victory was not only their third consecutive win, but it also secured a perfect four-game slate in NBA Cup pool play.

The Knicks’ win meant they topped the Group A in the Eastern Conference and secured a spot in the in-season competition’s knockout bracket for the second consecutive season

The team will next face the Atlanta Hawks, the East Group C winner, on either December 10 or 11 at Madison Square Garden.

The winner will win a glitzy trip to Las Vegas for a chance to succeed the Los Angeles Lakers as in-season champions.

Despite Alec’s seemingly patriotic evening supporting his home team, he was recently slammed for branding Americans as ‘uninformed’ during a recent film festival.

When the star received this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the Torino Film Festival in northern Italyhe said Americans were ‘uneducated’ about the world’s most pressing issues.

Alec said: ‘Americans are very uninformed about reality – what’s really going on.

‘Americans have an appetite for a little bit of information.’

And the comments sparked outrage among his fellow New Yorkers which even sparked a series of wild claims from a neighbour.

But this is not the first time he has been at the centre of controversy as Alec called a photographer a ‘c***sucking f****t’ to his face outside his Greenwich Village home in 2013.

Then in 2016, he was caught in another foul-mouthed frenzy with a different photographer who tried to take photos of him in a public place.

‘You’re a piece of trash,’ he yelled, along with several expletives. ‘Stay away from my wife.’

As the photographer tried to reason with the actor, Alec got in his face and yelled back at the top of his voice: ‘Shut up! You’re a piece of garbage!’

In 2018, he was arrested, and pleaded guilty, for punching a fellow New Yorker who stole his parking spot in an expletive-filled outburst.

And in 2021, an umbrella-armed Alec was filmed aggressively rushing towards a New York Post reporter who approached him outside Woody Allen’s Manhattan townhouse.
