The New York Racing Association will run Saturday’s 11-race card at Belmont at the Big A will as scheduled at Aqueduct Racetrack.
On Friday, Resorts World Casino treated the roof with a product that created air quality issues on the building’s top floor which is occupied by live racing officials, including stewards, photo finish, and chart callers. As a result, Friday’s card was canceled in its entirety.
To rectify the issue ahead of Saturday’s program, NYRA utilized industrial fans overnight to allow for further ventilation. NYRA has been in contact with Resorts World Casino officials to confirm the product used on the roof has reached its recommended time to dissipate.
To accommodate Saturday’s card, temporary adjustments have been made for several racing officials and stewards to be provided alternative work areas in unaffected portions of the building.
Saturday’s 11-race card features the $200,000 Sands Point (G2) in race 5 and the $135,000 Floral Park in race 7. First post is 12:10 p.m. EDT. Note that Friday’s featured $150,000 Glen Cove was re-scheduled to this Friday with entries being taken Saturday.
