Azov Brigade Regains Control in Donetsk: Key Battles in New York Village – Oj

The 12th Special Purpose Brigade of Azov has regained control of part of the village of New York in the Donetsk region. The troops also relieved Ukrainian soldiers from encirclement.

According to Azov, the 12th Special Purpose Brigade was involved in battles in the Toretsk direction to improve the tactical situation. The troops are participating in offensive and defensive actions in the village of New York and its surroundings.

“At the time the brigade was engaged in combat in this direction, the situation on the front line was catastrophic,” the report states.

As a result of the fighting, the Azov fighters managed to stabilize the situation, regain control of part of New York, and relieve the Defense Forces that were surrounded by the enemy. According to the defenders, the situation remains tense. In a single day, the Russians conduct up to 15 assaults in the brigade’s area of responsibility. However, the fighters are holding the line and successfully counterattacking.

“The enemy has repeatedly claimed that they have completely occupied New York. However, this is yet another manipulation by the occupiers. The Defense Forces control part of the settlement and are doing everything possible to liberate Ukrainian territories,” the troops add.

The village of New York is located in the central part of the Donetsk region in the Toretsk direction. In the past 24 hours, 16 battles have taken place in this section of the front.
