Ben Affleck purchases home in LA on same day as wife Jennifer Lopez sells her NYC apartment

Ben Affleck purchased a $20.5 million house in Los Angeles on the same day as his wife Jennifer Lope finalized the sale of her New York City condo. Both transactions occurred on July 24, which happens to be JLo’s birthday. 

Affleck purchased the 5-bedroom LA estate days after he and Lopez publicly listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68,000,000. The couple had purchased the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom home for $60,850,000 in May 2023. They had initially attempted to sell the property off-market.

According to reports, Lopez sold the NYC penthouse for $23 million. The apartment is a four-bedroom, 7.5-bath duplex and had been on and off the market for seven years and found a buyer this spring, with the deal officially going through on Lopez’s birthday.

The real estate transactions come amid divorce rumours of the couple. Ben and Jennifer have been spending time apart for the last few months. Lopez spent a birthday in New York while Affleck remained in California.

Lopez kicked off her birthday festivities with a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons on Saturday, July 20. While numerous guests, including Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, were spotted arriving at the festivities, Affleck was not in attendance.

The actor has spent most of the summer working on the production of The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles. While the film’s shoot has been wrapped up, Affleck and Lopez have continued to spend time apart on different coasts, including during the Fourth of July holiday and their second wedding anniversary.
