Bill Belichick is putting himself in the shop window, with an eye on PHI and JAX

As the NFL calendar flips to October, a large shadow has been cast over certain head coaches who find themselves on the hot seat.

That shadow is Bill Belichick.

Belichick will be coaching in the NFL next season, it’s just a matter of where and which shade of green/blue he prefers.

All eyes will be on Philadelphia and Jacksonville, as Nick Sirianni and Doug Pederson look to be fighting for their coaching lives in the upcoming weeks.

Every loss from here on out is only going to get amplified louder and make the hot seat boil warmer.

After leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl two seasons ago and getting off to an 11-1 start last year, Sirianni has gone 3-8 since then.

It has been a total collapse, including coordinator changes, leadership concerns and questions about his relationship with franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts.

A disaster in Philadelphia, with calls for his job only getting more deafening as the losses pile up.

The Eagles are sitting at 2-2 through four weeks into the season, so there is still time to right the ship, but unfortunately for Sirianni, there might be too many holes in the ship already.

Meanwhile in Duval County, the Jaguars have completely bottomed out at 0-4.

Trevor Lawrence has lost his last nine starts.

The whole team has regressed and Pederson may be paying for it with his job as he continues to avoid taking accountability.

“He is pretty much blaming the players and not taking accountability as a coach,” Phoebe Schecter told the latest episode talkSPORT’s NFL RunDown.

“I was really surprised to see that coming from him.”

“My biggest problem is Doug Pederson,” talkSPORT’s US Sports Writer Brian T. Smith added.

“If you’re Mr. Khan, you can say all you want about, ‘We have to win now,’ but if your head coach is calling out your players and saying ‘I’m calling the right play but the players are not executing,’ that does not work in the NFL.”

Remember Jacksonville’s 27-point comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round?

Excitement, hope and optimism surrounded the Jags and their bright future.

That wasn’t even two full years ago, but may as well have been 20 now.

All the shine from the Eagles and Jaguars is officially off. The fanbases are looking at lists of potential head coaches, which all start and end with the greatest coach of all time.

After being awkwardly ousted by Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots, the six-time Super Bowl champion dabbled in the coaching market this offseason.

Belichick came close to landing the Atlanta Falcons job but ultimately was passed on as they chose to go in a different direction.

Belichick now spends his free time by attaching himself to the game of football through the lens of the broadcasting world.

Belichick can be found on the ManningCast on MNF, Inside the NFL on the CW and his regular appearances on The Pat McAfee Show as well.

As much as he is crushing the media game, all signs (and sources) point to him getting back into coaching next season.

That’s good new for Belichick, and bad new for everyone else.

He isn’t a hard man to find. Philadelphia knows that and so does Jacksonville.

The real question is…does New York and Dallas?
