The NBA champions are opening the new season with rings on.
The Boston Celtics will have their opening game of the 2024-2025 season against the New York Knicks on Oct. 22 on TNT, said The Athletic’s sports reporter Shams Charania on his social media.
Charania also said that the rematch against the Dallas Mavericks will take place in Dallas on Jan. 25 and in Boston on Feb. 6. This is important as it was the five-game clash against the Mavericks that ultimately led to Boston winning their first championship in over a decade.
When will the Celtics get their rings
Boston’s champions will receive their NBA championship rings right before their game with New York, according to Charania. Boston’s 18th banner will also be raised on that night.
This first game against Knicks will test the mettle of Boston’s best on the NBA stage.
