Brian Daboll throws headset, stares down reporter as Giants fans call for firing

Brian Daboll is acting like an NFL coach who could soon be fired.

The New York Giants lost again on Sunday, falling 21-18 to the Washington Commanders.

With Daboll’s latest defeat, the Giants are in last place in the NFC East and there are no easy immediate answers.

Quarterback Daniel Jones is being paid like a franchise face, yet the $160 million man has produced some of the worst passing stats in the league this season.

With Saquon Barkley now representing the rival Philadelphia Eagles, Daboll lacks Super Bowl weapons and frustration is mounting in New York — even on the sidelines.

The third-year coach almost destroyed his headphones after a field goal sealed Washington’s late win on Sunday.

As the Commanders lifted up their kicker, Daboll furiously threw his headset into the ground.

A postgame interview also became nasty.

The man with a 15-20-1 record was asked about his NFL future.

Daboll responded with a cold stare down and appeared to be on the verge of challenging a reporter to a back-room brawl.

When Daboll was asked if he was “concerned” about his job, he paused, then gave a condescending answer.

“I’ve done this for a long time,” the Giants coach said. “My focus is on our football team.”

Those seemingly simple words were followed by Daboll staring at the reporter and not letting go of his hard glare.

“Dude really thought all that yelling he did was gonna result in being a good coach,” one fan tweeted. “He’s cooked. Clueless.”

“He might want to shed the arrogant attitude after the bone headed kicker decision,” a second fan posted.

“Jones is going to cost this dude his job,” a third fan wrote.

Jones threw two touchdowns and posted a strong 100 rating.

But the Giants QB was outplayed by Washington rookie Jayden Daniels.

In addition, the highly paid Jones only passed for 178 yards, and has yet to break the 200-yard mark this season.

There were serious questions about Jones’ future with the Giants entering the 2024 NFL Draft, when it was widely rumored that New York would draft a first-round QB.

Two games into a new season, Jones isn’t playing up to his $160 million contract and Daboll is throwing his headset into the ground.

There’s a clear reason why a New York football coach with a losing record becomes so tense when he’s asked about his NFL future.

“Fire this guy already,” one fan tweeted.
