Browns’ loss means New York Giants can’t get No. 1 pick in 2025 NFL Draft

Before the New York Giants won their Week 17 game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Giants controlled the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Pro Football Network gave them a 42.5% chance of keeping it.

Now, the Giants are shut out of getting the first overall pick — unless they trade for it.

The Cleveland Browns’ 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday put the Browns in the No. 1 spot prior to the outcome of Sunday’s games. It also eliminated the Giants from having a shot the first pick.

The Giants are eliminated because at best they can tie with the Browns in terms of win percentage and Strength of Schedule, but because they beat the Browns in Week 3 the Browns will get the higher pick in the Giants’ best-case scenario.

Per PFN, only three teams have a chance at the No. 1 pick.

Only three teams left that can earn the top pick in the 2025 Draft.

  • Titans 26%
  • Browns 24%

A win on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles would likely cause the Giants to tumble even further in the draft order.
