The Browns (1-1) did just enough to outlast the Jaguars in a rugged road matchup last week. The Giants (0-2) hunkered down defensively, but fell to the Washington Commanders via a franchise-tying seven field goals from former Browns kicker Austin Seibert, who walked off with the 30-yard game winner as time expired, capping an incredible performance.

BROWNS – GIANTS Matchup Preview
Playing on the road, Cleveland’s defense looked much more like themselves, including another sack from a hampered Myles Garrett. The Browns totaled four sacks on the afternoon. They return to Huntington Bank Field looking to replicate last year’s wrecking crew.
In a masterful play-calling display from two-time Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski, the Browns bolted out of the gate with a 16-play drive that ate up over nine minutes, culminating with a one-yard touchdown run from quarterback Deshaun Watson. That set the tone for the rest of the game.
While the numbers aren’t flashy, the Browns signal caller was a sturdier presence than in his opening debut against the Cowboys. Watson finished 22-of-34 for 186 yards, while tacking on five carries for 20 yards. He was sacked twice. After only grabbing one in their opener, the Giants had five sacks last week against the Commanders.
New York’s nasty defense was led by linebacker Micah McFadden’s 13 tackles, including eight solo tackles. His ability to get through Cleveland’s battered offensive line, which has allowed eight sacks in two games, will be a key factor in this matchup.
The Giants allowed 215 rushing yards to Washington, including 133 yards to Brian Robinson Jr. Browns running back Jerome Ford will likely be a featured weapon in their gameplan to continue that trend. The Giants will counter with running back Devin Singletary, who is coming off 16 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has two touchdowns and two interceptions with 364 yards passing in two games. As he continues to feel the heat, his top target, Malik Nabers, is coming off a breakout game with 10 receptions for 127 yards and one touchdown. Nabers against the Browns’ vaunted secondary is the juicy matchup to watch.
Cleveland nearly gave away the game in Jacksonville with a myriad of miscues in the final quarter. The Browns had 13 penalties for 100 yards on the day, helping the Jaguars stay within striking distance in a wild finish. Punter Corey Bojorquez boomed a kick that pinned the Jaguars on the 2-yard line, which led to a safety from defensive end Alex Wright.
The Jaguars got another chance with eight seconds left, but quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s pass to the end zone fell to the ground.
