Can TE Jack Stoll be more for Giants than he was for Philadelphia Eagles?

After three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jack Stoll is bidding for a job with the New York Giants as a blocking tight end. Can he earn a spot on the 53-man roster?

Let’s discuss Stoll as we continue player-by-player profiles of the Giants’ 90-man roster.

The skinny

Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 247
Opening day age: 26
Position: Tight end
Experience: 3
Contract: One-year, $1.105 million | 2024 cap hit: $1.105 million | Guaranteed at signing: $327,400

Career to date

Stoll earned a spot on the Eagles’ roster in 2021 after signing as an undrafted free agent. He has played in 50 regular-season games with 26 starts as a blocking tight end. In three seasons, Stoll has 20 receptions in 1,343 offensive snaps.

2024 outlook

Stoll told Giants.com’s John Schmeelk that his goal is “really becoming a true all-around tight end” rather than just a blocker.

The Giants have Daniel Bellinger and rookie fourth-round draft pick Theo Johnson locked into roster spots if healthy. Stoll and Chris Manhertz are veteran blocking tight ends who could be competing for one spot.

Holdover Lawrence Cager is also still on the roster, as is Tyree Jackson, another former Eagles tight end.

Whether Stoll earns a 53-man roster spot might come down to whether the Giants prefer him or Manhertz. It is hard to see them keeping both players.
