Caraway’s cult-favorite cookware got a heavy metal makeover today

When there’s a cookware drop, I’m all about it (naturally). So, when the makers of my tried-and-true non-toxic pots and pans — that quite literally save the day — grace the kitchen market with a new cast iron collection, I’m also here for it.

Caraway (yes, the brand behind the best-selling ceramic-coated cookware) launched its Enameled Cast Iron Collection today, September 17, 2024.

When I first heard news the brand was dishing out a non-toxic enameled cast iron line formulated especially for durability and easy maintenance, I was immediately intrigued. Though my kitchen already leans towards modern aesthetics, any new cookware that promises to combine the benefits of cast iron with Caraway’s signature style is one I’d finagle into my routine (and, one everyone should).

This is a significant milestone for Caraway, too. The Enameled Cast Iron Collection is its first venture into cast iron cookware (!!!) that gently combines the enduring strength of cast iron with Caraway’s modern design. It’s something we all can appreciate — for any time of year, but especially gifting season coming up. More, it promises superior durability, scratch resistance, and even cooking without the need for seasoning.

Pros:

  • Unique 3-layer enamel coating for durability and even cooking
  • No seasoning required, making it easy to clean and maintain
  • Versatile for various cooking techniques, oven-safe up to 500°F
  • Crafted from 50% recycled materials, free of harmful chemicals

Cons:

  • Higher price point compared to traditional cast iron cookware

To whip out a cast iron collection this good — with individual pieces starting at $175, no less — is a remarkable feat. Not to mention, I’m a sucker for cookware that combines functionality with style. I’ve been loving Caraway’s ceramic-coated cookware (which we reviewed), so it’s no surprise their new cast iron formulation caught my eye.

In line with Caraway’s commitment to sustainability and safety, the new cookware is crafted from 50% recycled materials and is free from harmful chemicals like PTFE and PFOA. The collection also includes Caraway’s signature storage solutions, with organizers designed to maximize space efficiency.

For those interested in exploring Caraway’s other offerings, the brand continues to provide its popular ceramic-coated cookware sets, bakeware, food storage solutions, and kitchen accessories. Additionally, Caraway recently introduced a Fall Collection, which includes their classic Cookware Set, Minis Duo, and Bakeware Set in beautiful seasonal colors.
