As it expands its footprint in the United States, the British menswear company Charles Tyrwhitt, which is well-known for its shirts, has established a new store in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal.

With 12 retail sites across the US—in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Houston—Charles Tyrwhitt will be able to reach commuters at the Grand Central Terminal, which is situated near the Vanderbilt Hall entrance at 89 East 42nd Street.

With its cheeky neon banner that reads “Get Shirty,” two London telephone booths, and a wall of neckties modelled after the Charles Tyrwhitt London headquarters on Regent Street, the 2,280-square-foot store was created to highlight the brand’s British roots.

In addition to formal and casual suits, knitwear, smart casual clothing, footwear, and accessories, the store sells the brand’s high-end menswear, which includes a wide selection of shirts in a variety of fits, collars, and colourways.

“Whether our clients live in New York or are just visiting, the Grand Central store is a fantastic addition to our US retail portfolio, providing a recognisable and practical place for them to purchase for his contemporary professional wardrobe,” said Sam Stanley, vice president of North America at Charles Tyrwhitt.

According to Charles Tyrwhitt, the company sold 7 million white button-down shirts in 2023, with one being sold every 50 seconds. By the end of 2024, it hopes to have 7.5 million shirts.

Charles Tyrwhitt has 34 stores in the UK and 12 in the US, making these two countries the brand’s largest markets. Additionally, it conducts business in over 50 nations.
