Cher Goes Monochrome in Burberry With Boyfriend Alexander Edwards in Pinstripes for New York Flagship Store Reopening

Cher made a minimalist departure from her typically extravagant style at Burberry‘s New York flagship reopening on Wednesday. The legendary songstress was accompanied by her boyfriend, Alexander Edwards, at the star-studded affair, which also included notable guests like Tyra Banks and Cara Delevingne.

Cher sported an all-black ensemble consisting of a trench coat and wide-leg trousers, which she accessorized with a crystallized clutch and a diamond necklace. The “Believe” singer wore her blond tresses in waves, while her makeup consisted of rose gold eyeshadow and a glossy mauve lip.

Edwards, meanwhile, donned a pinstripe double-breasted suit and a crisp white button-up.

On Tuesday, Cher performed on the runway at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside fellow musical acts Tyla and Lisa of Blackpink.

Ahead of the live spectacle, she wore a combination of Off-White and The Attico on the pink carpet, modeling a netted bodysuit covered in crystals, baggy leather pants and a blazer.

Cher is known for frequently changing hairstyles: she last went blond in late 2023, when she was promoting her Christmas album. This time around, rather than wearing platinum waves, she opted for a honey blond shade with dark roots.

The Grammy-winning artist is no stranger to the runway after modeling closing out Balmain’s spring 2023 show during Paris Fashion Week.

“’Style icon’” doesn’t come close to describing her achievement of defining more than a half-century’s worth of fashion’s trends,” the brand’s creative director Olivier Rousteing told WWD at the time. “And, in this challenging age that compels us to fight for long-overdue changes, her impressive, long-term commitment to dedicated activism is an example to all.”
