Where good news shines
Jaylyn Sherrod won’t go quietly.
The former Colorado Buffaloes standout point guard on Saturday signed a seven-day contract with the WNBA’s New York Liberty, the team said. She suited up Sunday against Indiana.
Sherrod, who played at CU from 2019-24 and helped the Buffs to multiple appearances in the NCAA Tournament, spent training camp with the Liberty as an undrafted signee. She played two preseason games with New York, averaging six points and two steals.
Sherrod set a program record with 133 starts at Colorado. She was the first Buffs player to be named Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year and was the third player to record 1,000 points with 600 assists.
