The Dallas Cowboys have announced country music star Lainey Wilson will take the stage at halftime of the team’s Thanksgiving game against the New York Giants.
It will be the second straight season a country star has performed at halftime of the Cowboys’ turkey-day clash, with Dolly Parton doing the honors last year.
The Cowboys’ announcement also teases that Wilson will be joined by a special guest for her performance.
Wilson announced herself as the halftime act in a social-media video where she is wearing all blue alongside Cowboys cheerleaders.
The Grammy winner does a kick line to end the advertisement where she asks if she was the first person to ever do that in bell-bottoms. A cheerleader responds ‘I think you are.’

Dolly Parton performed at AT&T Stadium last year with the halftime tradition continuing
The Cowboys and Lions have traditionally been the home teams for the NFL’s Thanksgiving slate, with a third game with two others being added to the league’s slate years back.
Wilson is one of the biggest stars in country music, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year.
Wilson’s NFL ties do not begin with her performance in Dallas, as she has been dating former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges since 2021.
The ‘Things a Man Oughta Know’ singer did not give any hints as to who will be joining her on stage at AT&T Stadium.
With the involvement of Wilson and Parton, chances are it will be a fellow country singer.
The Cowboys did oddly announce Wilson’s involvement in the Thanksgiving clash in the middle of Sunday’s 47-9 loss to the Lions.
