While Jackson hails from New York and has also played for the Knicks, he wasn’t hated as much when he moved to the Pacers. But Miller had to be protected from the crowd. The 59-year-old had breakfast from outside and got some for his teammate as well. He said, “I would go and I had because Reggie was the enemy so I’m from New York so I’m good but Reggie couldn’t walk the streets of New York City. I’m ordering two sandwiches and two coffees and two Donuts, I had to get Reg food so I had to bring it back to the hotel.” And while going to the game, Miller did one of his crazy stunts.

The fans were banging on the back of the bus window which prompted Miller to do this. “Crazy Reggie opens up the back window, the big window of the bus and yelling at the fans and we everybody’s getting hyped up and motivated. So it’s a special rivalry one that we embrace one that the fans embrace,” added Jackson. It’s not the only time when Miller got fans riled up.

Reggie Miller vs the MSG crowd

Miller once again kept his rivalry with MSG going. During game 2 between the sides this year, Miller was not on the official call list of the TNT broadcast. But they brought him in expecting him to say things that would stir the internet. And the Pacers icon did what was expected of him.

Miller said, “There is a lot of history between these two franchises. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere. I know people are going like, ‘Aren’t you worried about going back to New York City and call the game?’ No! I’ve owned this city. I’ve owned this building. So why would I be worried about walking on out there?”
