New Jersey’s Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has denied liquor license renewals for two of former President Donald Trump’s golf courses in the state following his recent conviction on 34 felony counts in New York.
The two affected clubs, Trump National Colts Neck and Trump National Bedminster, had their licenses expire on July 1, 2024.
However, the ABC has issued temporary 90-day permits allowing the clubs to continue serving alcohol pending the outcome of a scheduled hearing on July 19 in Trenton.
The Trump Organization has called the upcoming hearing “unwarranted and unjustified,” as reported by various news outlets. In contrast, the liquor license for Trump National Philadelphia, located in Pine Hill, New Jersey, was renewed by the local municipality.
The scheduling of the liquor license hearing follows Trump’s upcoming sentencing in New York on July 11. After Trump was found guilty in May of 34 counts of falsifying business records, the ABC is examining New Jersey law, which prohibits convicted criminals “involving moral turpitude” from holding a liquor license, according to official sources.
