Daniel Jones’ return highlights Giants’ storylines for second preseason game
Here’s what to look for in the Giants’ preseason game against the Texans on Saturday.
Back at the controls
Daniel Jones has not appeared in a game since Nov. 5 and this in some ways is a career reset, as he makes his debut with his surgically repaired right knee.
He does not want to take a hit but if he does, the Giants will breathe easier once he gets up and moves on.
Job for the taking
The starting perimeter cornerback spot opposite Deonte Banks is up for grabs and Cor’Dale Flott has not seized it this summer.
He is down with a quad issue and now Nick McCloud (or possibly Tre Hawkins) gets a shot at moving in.
Feed the rook
Malik Nabers was on the field for 12 snaps in the preseason-opener against the Lions and was not targeted once by quarterback Drew Lock — despite the fact Nabers broke free at least twice.
Nabers missed time this past week with a sprained ankle but made a swift recovery and if he gets in this game all eyes will be on him, again.
