Darren Waller announces retirement from NFL
The New York Giants released the following statement in regard to tight end Darren Waller announcing his retirement from the NFL:
“We have great respect for Darren as a person and player. We wish him nothing but the best.”
The 31-year-old Waller finished his NFL career with 350 receptions for 4,124 yards and 20 touchdowns across eight seasons with the Ravens, Raiders, and Giants, who acquired him in a trade with Las Vegas last March. After being voted a team captain, the tight end caught 52 passes for 552 yards and one touchdown across 12 games in his lone season with the Giants.
Waller played his first two seasons with the Ravens after being selected in the sixth round (No. 204 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He then spent five seasons with the Raiders from 2018 to 2022.
