David Charles Olson

David Charles Olson, 70, died peacefully on Thursday September 12, 2024, at Magnolia Nursing Home, in Houston, Texas, following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 29, 1954, in Jamestown, to Charles E. Olson Jr., and Gloria (Widen) Olson.

Dave was a 1972 graduate of Jamestown High School. He received an Associates degree at Jamestown Community College, in1974. He attended SUNY Fredonia until his move to Texas.

Dave’s work life in Houston began at Texas Instrument, but later he spent many years at and retired from DeWalch Technologies.

A musically gifted guitarist, Dave played and sang lead vocals in many bands throughout his life. His passion for music will forever be remembered by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gloria Olson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Anne (McElhannon) Olson, sisters, Julie Mula (Joseph), Lisa Formby (Michael), nieces, Malin Hultberg,(Chad), Allison Mula, and his children, Kurt Olson, Blake Stockwell, and Maggie Sempe (Adam). Dave’s life was enriched by his three grandchildren, Lillian Hayes, Maverick Sempe, and Trinity Sempe, whom he adored.

Always animated, delivering funny stories and jokes, Dave instantly brought laughter to any room. His undeniable vocal support of the Houston Rockets, Astros, and U of H Cougars, was heard at all of the events he attended. Yet, none of these things ever compared to the love he had for his family.

His infectious laugh, smile, and kind heart will be dearly and deeply missed.

Dave’s funeral service was held at Cyprus-Fairbanks Funeral Home on Monday, September 16, 2024.
