Day 2 NFL mock drafts: Potential selections for New York Giants

With the 2024 NFL Draft ongoing, I bet you thought you were done reading mock drafts until th 2025 draft cycle gets underway. Well, wrong! Here are a handful of Day 2 mock drafts to ponder as you wait to find out what the New York Giants will do Friday night in Rounds 2 and 3.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com:

Round 2 (No. 47) — Jonathan Brooks, RB, Texas

After losing Saquon Barkley to the rival Eagles in free agency, the Giants add this talented Texas runner who is on the mend from an ACL tear last November.

Round 3 (No. 70) — Maason Smith, DT, LSU [Prospect Profile]

Pro Football Focus:

Round 2 (No. 47) — Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia [Prospect Profile]

Frazier was a four-time state wrestling champion in high school. That built-in core strength is a massive boon to his work on the interior. His body control and forearm/grip strength allow him to latch on to defenders.

Round 3 (No. 70) — Spencer Rattler, QB, South Carolina [Prospect Profile]

Rattler has a mature game, with sound fundamentals and pocket presence, as well as good accuracy in and out of structure. His arm is adequate, but he needs to improve when it comes to seeing additional coverage defenders post-snap.

CBS Sports (Chris Trapasso):

Round 2 (No. 47) — Christian Haynes, G, UConn [Prospect Profile]

More blocking reinforcement is needed for Daniel Jones, and Christian Haynes is probably the best pure guard in the class.

Round 3 (No. 70) — Brandon Dorlus, DL, Oregon [Prospect Profile]

Dane Brugler (The Athletic):

Round 2 (No. 47) — T.J. Tampa, CB, Iowa State [Prospect Profile]
Round 3 (No. 70) — Trey Benson, RB, Florida State [Prospect Profile]
