Deion Sanders claims to have inside Giants info: ‘Know that for a fact’

The New York Giants currently hold the second overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft. That is serious draft capital they can either keep and use on a top quarterback or trade back for a slew of picks to continue to rebuild their roster.

NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, now the head coach at Colorado, where his son, Shedeur, is the star quarterback, doesn’t believe Big Blue will trade the pick if they end up at No. 1 overall.

“Giants are not going to give up that pick. They’re not going to give up that pick,” Sanders told former NFL cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones in an interview on BetOnline. “The Giants are not giving up that pick. I know that for a fact.”

It’s anyone’s guess how Sanders knows what the Giants are planning, but the regime has spent quite a bit of time scouting Shedeur this season.

In fact, general manager Joe Schoen and director of player personnel Tim McDonnell were in Boulder last month to scout the Colorado-Utah game and got a close-up look at Shedeur, his brother Shilo, a safety, and eventual Heisman Trophy recipient Travis Hunter Jr.

Sanders also proclaimed that Shedeur would be the No. 1 pick. If that is the case, the Giants don’t have a clear shot at him at things sit. That would likely be the Las Vegas Raiders, who although have the same record as the Giants (2-12), would get the top pick due to tiebreakers if the season ended today.

No one is sure whether Schoen will even be around to make that pick come April. The Giants could end up with a franchise-worst 3-14 or even 2-15 record.

How ownership can justify going forward with a regime that has failed so miserably the past two seasons is unfathomable. But, these are the 21st century Giants, who have become one of the worst-performing franchises in team sports, so anything is possible.
