Despite Damian Lillard Disrespect, Kiyan Anthony Headlines Bucks Star’s Latest Venture With $2 Billion Brand

Damian Lillard had some of his best games in Portland. Lillard has been in MVP conversation multiple times as a Blazer. Of course, as we look forward to his success in Milwaukee, it will be with his teammate and 2x MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo. But in Portland, Dame was pretty much the only one carrying the team alongside CJ McCollum. During his best years in Portland, Dame averaged 27.2 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.4 rebounds while shooting over 44% from the field. And in these years, Dame made the MVP list 5 times. Nevertheless, former Blazer and Knick’s son, Kiyan Anthony, does not believe Lillard to be better than another star in his prime.

We’re talking about Jalen Brunson in his prime. Kiyan spoke about Brunson’s impact on the Knicks, having seen him do his magic in MSG. “Would this be considered Jalen Brunson’s prime? Yeah, I’m taking Jalen Brunson. I’ve been to mad Knicks games bro, Jalen Brunson…. He’s like that, like it’s OD bro.”, Anthony said. Though recently, Kiyan was seen rocking Dame’s signature shades!

Oakley, the brand whose net worth once topped $2.1 billion, signed Damian Lillard to an endorsement deal in 2021. And their recently released latched panel shades featured on SLAM’s X. Apart from Kiyan, multiple young hoopers were rocking the same shades. So, has he changed his opinion on the Brunson and Lillard debate?

Well, terming Jalen Brunson as OD (overdose), it’d likely be tough to change his mind in this scenario. And the Knick has definitely made the case for the best point guard in the East.

Jalen Brunson has averaged 28.7 points alongside 3.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists while shooting 40% from deep and 48% from the field. He also ranked 5th in the MVP voting. But is the Knick really better than Damian Lillard?

Brunson’s game surged after his stint with the Mavericks. So, here’s a comparison between Jalen’s two seasons with the Knicks, which happen to be the fifth and sixth year of his career, and Lillard, who is playing in his 30s.

The two are definitely face-to-face when it comes to the stats sheet. However, Jalen Brunson’s impact on the Knicks has been monumental for the franchise. But why is that?

Well, after Carmelo Anthony, Brunson has been New York’s only hope for a title run. Yes, Julius Randle indeed lit the match, but JB has done a great job maintaining the franchise’s threat in the Conference right when it was on the verge of collapsing. On the other hand, Damian Lillard has had a decent year in Milwaukee, but injuries got the better of the squad during the playoffs.

The Bucks were a major threat in the East after Lillard’s arrival, and they still are. It is safe to say that the two have had an incredible stretch in recent years. Had the Bucks been healthy, it would’ve changed the playoff picture in the East this year.
