Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants preseason first half open thread

The Detroit Lions kick off their preseason schedule on Thursday night with a matchup against the New York Giants. It’s the culmination of a fiery week of practices between the two teams. And while neither team is expected to play many starters, it’s still exciting to watch some “real” football, particularly when it’s kicking off a season that could be special for our Detroit Lions.

If you’re new to Pride of Detroit, this post will serve simply as an open thread. What that means is that our community of fans and commenters will stick on this page during the game, and provide their live commentary in the comment section below. It’s just a way for us to experience the game together.

When the game hits halftime, we’ll open up a Lions-Giants second half open thread, so that we aren’t flooded with comments in a single post.
