COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An Italian-style sub shop from New York with over 100 years in business has opened its 16th Ohio location in New Albany.

DiBella’s Subs opened the doors to its latest store at 4980 E. Dublin Granville Road on Wednesday. The New Albany sandwich shop — the fourth DiBella’s location in central Ohio — will let customers in Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“We’re so excited to open the fourth DiBella’s in Columbus as we expand our footprint for the love of authentic Italian-style subs across the Midwest,” said AJ Shear, DiBella’s director of marketing.

The New Albany store is the second new DiBella’s to be introduced in the Columbus area in 2024. In March, the company opened a Worthington location. It also has locations on Olentangy River Road and in Dublin.

Established in 1918 in Rochester, New York, as a grocery store, the restaurant chain touts its fresh-baked bread as the core of every DiBella’s sandwich.

“It’s what we are known for and it is what we do best,” the company’s website said.

Sandwiches on DiBella’s menu include the Godfather, a sub with genoa salami, capicola, and spicy ham, and the Dagwood, a sub with turkey, ham, and corned beef. The chain also serves specialty subs, like its Buffalo Chicken and Chicken Philly sandwiches, salads, cookies and other sides.

The family-owned restaurant has 45 locations across Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut.
