Does Tommy DeVito still live at home? Giants QB finally moves out of parent’s house after rookie season | Sporting News

Tommy DeVito took the NFL by storm as a rookie in 2023.

New York’s quarterback room kept getting battered with injuries last season. First, it was starting quarterback Daniel Jones who had a neck injury that sidelined him for a few weeks before suffering a torn ACL that ended his season. Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor then had a rib injury that forced him to injured reserve.

That set the stage for DeVito to start, albeit with low expectations.

DeVito’s personality took over and he quickly became a fan favorite. He had a catchy celebration for big plays and touchdowns when he rubbed his thumb, pointer and middle fingers together. Add in that his agent looks like he is straight out of a mafia movie that would make you swim with the fishes, and the DeVito legend was born.

Adding to the legend: DeVito lived with his parents to start his NFL career, but he now has a place to himself.

Does Tommy DeVito still live at home?

DeVito was born in Livingston, New Jersey, and went to high school in Ramsey. He stayed in the northeast for the start of his college career, enrolling at Syracuse from 2017-2021.

With a name like DeVito and being from New Jersey, the fact that he ended up on the Giants, who are based in New York but play in New Jersey, seemed like a perfect match.

Undrafted rookies in the NFL don’t make a lot of money. They will often split rent with another player or crash at a veteran player’s house until they have some assurance of job security. DeVito didn’t need to worry about any of that. He ended up living with his parents during the season. Not only did it help him save on rent, but it also meant he got to eat home cooking.

DeVito’s affinity for his mother’s chicken cutlets earned him the nickname “Tommy Cutlets.”

“I don’t have to worry about laundry, what I’m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there,” DeVito said. “My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don’t even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here.”

In 2024, DeVito remained with the Giants and there was hope that he would back up Jones. New York decided to sign Drew Lock, which pushed DeVito down the depth chart but allowed him to focus on his development.

DeVito has taken a step forward this season and now has his own place, no longer living at home.

Where does Tommy DeVito live?

DeVito hasn’t revealed where he is living this season. We just know that it isn’t in his childhood home with his parents.

DeVito’s popularity around New York and New Jersey spread like wildfire. At one point, he was charging $20,000 for an appearance last season. If a few businesses took him up on it, or if he signed some sponsorship deals behind the scenes over the last year, it would be easy for him to afford his own place despite still being on a smaller NFL contract.
