‘Entertainment Tonight’ Promotes Rachel Smith to Anchor Weekend Show, Moves Production to NYC (Exclusive) – IMDb
“Entertainment Tonight Weekend,” which is an hour-long version of the nightly syndicated entertainment news show, will now broadcast from New York City for the first time in the show’s 42-year history, Variety has learned.
Smith takes over hosting duties of the weekend show from the Big Apple on October 7. She will also continue to serve as a correspondent on the nightly syndicated broadcast.
“Rachel has been a pivotal member of the ‘Et’ team, serving as a vital link to the East Coast and infusing our broadcast with her passion and vibrant personality,” said executive producer Erin Johnson. “With Rachel at the helm of ‘Et Weekend,’ our entertainment coverage will truly span coast to coast.”
