INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers opened the season with a come-from-behind 115-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons. The Knicks did not look good in their season opener vs. the Celtics. It’s only Game 2 but this rematch of the Eastern Conference semifinals should be one of the more telling early-season games.

Follow along during tonight’s game:

7 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 25, 2024, at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Radio: 93.5, 107.5 FM in Indianapolis, with Mark Boyle (play-by-play)

Dustin Dopirak: Knicks 110-105

The Pacers and Knicks both looked disconnected in their season openers. The Pacers won and the Knicks didn’t, but the Pacers were also playing the Pistons, who are better than last year. Still, they’re not the defending champion Boston Celtics, who put a whooping on the Knicks on the night they hung banner No. 18.

The Knicks will be motivated because of that loss and because the Pacers beat them in Madison Square Garden in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Guessing that will be enough for the Knicks to grind out a win.

ESPN’s matchup predictor gives the Knicks a 52.8% chance of winning.
