Former Penn State Football Wide Receiver Allen Robinson Signs With New York Giants
Former Penn State wide receiver Allen Robinson signed with the New York Giants, the Giants announced Thursday. According to Ralph Vacciano of FOX Sports, Robinson’s deal is good for one year.
Robinson played for Penn State from 2011-13 and had a strong career with the Nittany Lions. During that time, he recorded 177 receptions for 2,474 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was a two-time Big Ten Receiver of the Year and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in his sophomore and junior years. Robinson also became the third Penn State wide receiver in history to earn first-team All-American honors in his junior year.
After college, Robinson entered the 2014 NFL Draft and was selected in the second round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for four seasons, making the Pro Bowl in 2015, before joining the Chicago Bears in 2018.
Robinson spent four seasons with the Bears and became the fifth Bears player in history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020 before joining the Los Angeles Rams in 2022.
Robinson spent one season with the Rams before being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2023 season. During his time with the Steelers, he played in all 17 regular season games and finished with 34 receptions for 280 receiving yards before being released.
Robinson will join the Giants alongside new Nittany Lion draftee Theo Johnson.
