Giants draft picks 2025: How a win, loss vs. Cowboys could impact early NFL Draft order | Sporting News United Kingdom
The Giants’ disappointing season continues on Thanksgiving, as New York faces off against the Cowboys in front of the entire country. At 2-9, the Giants are tied for the worst record in football, but that could lead them to a fresh start in the offseason if they can clinch the No. 1 overall pick.
Moving forward, the Giants game against Dallas on Thursday is big, as it represents one of the easier games left on New York’s schedule. If the Giants lose to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, it will put them in even better position to get a high draft pick next year.
The Sporting News examines where the Giants stand in the NFL draft order heading into Week 13.

NFL Draft order 2025: Who owns the No. 1 pick?
As Week 13 gets underway, there are three teams that are tied at the bottom of the NFL standings but the top of the draft order. While the Jaguars currently own the top pick in next year’s draft, the Giants and Raiders are right behind, as all three teams sit at 2-9 after 11 games.
With all three teams owning the same record, the strength-of-schedule tiebreaker would determine who gets the No. 1 overall pick — that is the first tiebreaker the NFL uses for the draft. Jacksonville owns that tiebreaker as of Week 13, with the Giants second and Raiders third.
If the Giants lose:
If all three teams (Jacksonville, New York and Oakland) lose in Week 13, then the draft order would remain the same and the Giants would stay at the No. 2 spot.
If the Giants lose the Cowboys, but the Jaguars beat the Texans, then New York would jump Jacksonville to take hold of the top pick regardless of what the Raiders do against the Chiefs on Black Friday.
If the Giants win:
The Giants strength-of-schedule this year is .529, according to Tankathon. That is second highest among all teams with either two or three wins, trailing just the Raiders.
Therefore, if New York beats Dallas on Thanksgiving Day at AT&T Stadium, the Giants could potentially as far as the No. 8 pick if the Patriots, Panthers, Titans and Jets all lose this week.
