Giants host 5 players for pre-training camp workout
In addition to hosting veteran offensive lineman Greg Van Roten for a visit on Monday, the New York Giants held a workout for five players. There were four wide receivers and a quarterback in the workout.
The five are:
QB Jarrett Guarantano
WR Jakeem Grant
WR T.J. Luther
WR Byron Pringle
WR Lincoln Victor
Pringle, 30, is a five-year veteran who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Commanders, and Chicago Bears. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound Pringle has 91 career receptions for 1,191 yards (13.1 yards per catch) and nine touchdowns.
Grant, 31, was a sixth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2016. He has 100 receptions in 81 regular-season games for the Dolphins and Chicago Bears. Grant, though, has not played since 2021. He missed the 2022 season with a torn Achilles and missed the 2023 season with a patella tendon tear.
Luther, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, spent part of last season on the New England Patriots’ practice squad.
Victor, 5-foot-9, 177 pounds, is an undrafted free agent. He signed with the Denver Broncos in May, but was released after only three days.
Guarantano, 26. is a Lodi, N.J. native. He went undrafted in 2022 after playing for Tennessee and Washington State. He spent parts of the 2022 on the practice squads of the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos. This spring, Guarantano played for the Houston Roughnecks in the United Football League.
The workout may have been heavy on wide receivers because the Giants placed Chase Cota on IR after spring workouts with a broken collarbone.
