Giants LT Andrew Thomas likely to miss rest of season after Lisfranc surgery
For a 2-4 Giants squad that’s 29th in points scored, it’s a crushing blow.
The 25-year-old Thomas was taken with the fourth pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Giants and has been a starter ever since.
Thomas was stellar in 2022, but in 2023 he missed seven games with a hamstring injury.
This time around, it’s a foot injury that popped up in Sunday night’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Thomas told reporters after the game he would need to consult a doctor. He consulted with podiatrist Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina, and it was determined surgery was the best route.
Thomas signed a five-year, $117.5 million extension in the summer of 2023, a clear indicator that he was set to play a major role in the Giants’ future.
Now, his absence could well play a major role in continued struggles for Big Blue.
