New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has had plenty to celebrate early so far in what has been an outstanding start to the season, but now he’ll have to pay for those celebrations.

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the NFL fined the star rookie $28,128 for two unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture violations during his touchdown celebration against the Cleveland Browns last week.

Nabers, the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, has been one of the best rookies in the league this year. He leads the league in receptions with 35 and receiving yards with 386 and is tied for the most receiving touchdowns with three. While his numbers are after four games while other teams have played just three, he’s still been impressive.

But his outstanding rookie year could come to a halt for now. He suffered a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday after recording 115 receiving yards on 12 receptions and might have to miss some time.

After exiting Thursday’s game, he gave fans an update on the injury, clarifying that he’s “all good.”

Luckily for the Giants and Nabers, playing on Thursday means they’ll have 10 days in between games, their next matchup coming next Sunday against the Seatle Seahawks. While there’s no timeline on Nabers’ return yet, the long weekend at least gives him a little more time to get healthy.

While Nabers has had a good start to his career, New York has struggled early, losing to the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders and Cowboys with a win against the Browns in between.
