In NY Giants’ search for answers, the lingering questions are back | The Record
Brian Burns sat slumped against the wall next to the locker belonging to Dexter Lawrence, who was in the chair facing that same wall. The two leaders of the New York Giants – both in talent and emotion – were still half-dressed in their uniforms nearly 40 minutes after Sunday’s 27-22 loss to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.
Yet this one felt and looked differently afterward, leaving two of the Giants’ franchise cornerstones huddled up in the post-game locker room continuing what has been a month-long search for answers.

Daniel Jones threw his first touchdown pass at home since New Year’s Day 2023 against the Indianapolis Colts when the Giants clinched a playoff spot and the MetLife crowd chanted Jones’ name.

“It’s the NFL. Stranger things have happened. People go on runs all the time.”

Giants third-string QB Tommy DeVito, ready at a moment’s notice | ESPN
“Every step of the way there is always something there,” DeVito said. “So overcoming obstacles … I just keep my head down, work and be ready. Similar situation to last year where you’re the No. 3 [quarterback]. You never know what’s going to happen. Be ready to roll when it’s time to roll. That’s it.”
Let the tank begin! Giants need their own Jayden Daniels to save this franchise | Politi – NJ.com
The Giants head to the land of the Panzerkampfwagen next week for the ultimate tank game. They’ll face the Carolina Panthers, another very bad football team with a matching 2-7 record, with the chance to get the inside track on the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
They should stay out late celebrating Oktoberfest the night before, eat as much bratwurst as humanly possible in the hour before kickoff, and then make sure that all of Deutschland is screaming “nein! nein!” at the prospect of the NFL returning to their country in the future.
Jon Runyan Jr. discussing the second-half performance
“This is a very prideful offense. We’re gonna do what it takes to win.”

Best Plan for Giants QB Situation Moving Forward | SI.com
Cam Ward of Miami or Shedeur Sanders of Colorado would likely bring the same excitement as Jayden Daniels, who the Giants missed out on last season. Despite being enamored with Daniels, the Giants did not trade up. They stood pat and selected wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Rapid Reactions: Panthers come back to beat the Saints | Panthers.com
The Panthers came back to beat the Saints 23-22 Sunday at Bank of America Stadium, avenging a season-opening loss and stopping a five-game losing streak to improve to 2-7. Chuba Hubbard’s second touchdown of the game with 2:18 left in the game was the margin on a day when both teams moved in fits and starts.
Panthers-Saints final score, highlights, and recap | Cat Scratch Reader
Bryce Young had one of his better games a pro. He pushed the ball down the field several times and was pretty accurate with several of them. He was very unfortunate to see two perfectly thrown deep balls end up as an incompletion and an interception. He gave receivers a chance down the field when they weren’t wide open, which is something he’s hesitated to do in the past. He played a lot better than his stat line would suggest.
