Giants place Kayvon Thibodeaux on injured reserve, sign punter Matt Haack

The New York Giants placed outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux on injured reserve Saturday among a series of roster moves ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football.

The Giants also signed veteran punter Matt Haack to the active roster and elevated wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins and running back Dante Miller from the practice squad.

Punter Jamie Gillan (hamstring), running back Devin Singletary (groin) and wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton (shoulder), all of whom were listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, have been downgraded to out.

Thibodeaux suffered a wrist injury against the Seahawks that required surgery earlier this week. The third-year outside linebacker will now be sidelined for at least the next four games.

The 23-year-old has registered 2.0 sacks, three tackles for loss and seven quarterback hits over the first five games of the season.

Haack spent his first four seasons with the Miami Dolphins after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He played for the Buffalo Bills in 2021, where he overlapped with Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen. Haack played all 17 games for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022 before playing one game with the Cleveland Browns in 2023.

In 99 career games, Haack has punted the ball 432 times, averaging 44.5 yards per punt with 160 punts inside the 20.
