Giants prepared for everything in slowed-down practice

Observations from Giants training camp on Thursday.

Like a good Nabers 

Seeing Malik Nabers running around the field for the first time since suffering a sprained ankle meant that the dynamic rookie wide receiver is a quick healer, a good sign for him and the Giants. 

Little bit slower now

The cards were out, meaning this was a slowed-down version of practice, with preparations for Saturday’s game at Houston in place.

Players on a scout team wore red jerseys simulating Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell and Nico Collins. 

Caught my eye

During a team period late in practice, the voice of Alicia Keys blared “Empire State of Mind’’ louder than usual.

The starting offense was on the field, and this was preparation for crowd noise this weekend on the road against the Texans.

Injury report

In addition to Nabers returning, another rookie made it back as RB Tyrone Tracy (ankle) participated in individual drills.

G Jon Runyan (shoulder) remained out.
