Giants’ QB Daniel Jones makes NFL history with unbelievable halftime stat line

In a rare statistical feat, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones pulled off an unusual halftime stat line during Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.

By halftime, Jones had completed 4 of 6 passes for exactly 0 yards—but somehow, he’d still managed to throw a touchdown. According to NFL research, this makes Jones the first quarterback since 1991 to post zero or fewer passing yards alongside a touchdown pass in a half while attempting five or more passes.

The 3-yard touchdown throw to tight end Chris Manhertz marked a significant moment for Jones as well. It was his first touchdown pass at home since 2022, meaning Giants fans at MetLife Stadium witnessed something they hadn’t seen in nearly two years. But despite Jones’s unique accomplishment, the reaction was anything but celebratory.

As Jones and the team headed into the locker room at halftime trailing 21-7, they were met with boos from disappointed fans. It’s clear that Giants fans are still hoping for a more consistent offensive performance.
